Badge FAQs and Policies
Did you lose your badge? Get a badge from a friend that has their name on it? Have some other badge-related issue? Come to Badge Services at Geekway HQ.
Badge Availability/Sell-Outs
Micro
Usually takes a few weeks to sell out
Mini
Usually sells out within an hour. Plan accordingly and set an alarm.
Prime
Hotel Patron Badges will sell out fast, usually within an hour. Hotel space is limited, and these badges give priority access to booking a hotel room.
Non-hotel Patron Badges last a bit longer.
Regular Badges will sell out, but usually not until March, so you have time to plan.
What if there is a sell-out, can I still get a badge?
Once a con sells out, there is no guarantee of being able to get a badge. However, at any time before the sales close date, registrants are able to return badges through Tabletop Events and those badges will then be available for purchase.
So if you need a badge, check back often and you may be able to snag one. There is no waitlist functionality, and there is unfortunately nothing we can do if you email us, either.
How to Pick Up Your Badge
At Geekway Prime and Geekway Mini, you will receive an email when you purchase your badge explaining where and when to pick up your badge. Generally speaking, you can pick up your badge starting at 8 am on Thursday morning for Prime, and at 10 am on Friday morning for Mini.
To pick up your badge, just go to the registration desk and bring a photo ID. Tabletop Events will send you a QR code to use for pickup — you do not need this, so don't worry about having it ready.
Badges for minor children may be picked up by an accompanying adult with the adult's photo ID.
Please note that at Mini, you are welcome to start playing in the gaming area as soon as it is available on Friday morning (usually 8 am, but see your confirmation email to be sure); but do make a point to get your badge as soon as possible once HQ is open.
Badge Refunds
To refund a badge, see instructions on our Tabletop Events Help page.
Lost Badges
If you lose your badge, HQ badge services can create a new badge for you. You will need proof that you are who you say you are — badge confirmation, ID, etc. Your lost badge will be deactivated, the barcode canceled from the system, and you will get a new badge with a new badge number. Your original door prize tag will still be valid, and you will not get a new one.
NOTICE: Play and Win plays on a lost badge are not eligible to win, and will not be transferred to the new badge. Play and Win plays on your replacement badge ARE eligible.
Badge Transfers
To transfer a badge, see instructions on our Tabletop Events Help page.
Lost Badges and Badge Transfers during a convention are both subject to a $5 convenience fee.
