What is the hotel rate for Geekway?

This changes annually and varies by event. But for reference:

• For Prime, in 2026, the hotel rates are $174/night. In 2027, the rate will be $179/night.
• Note that this doesn't include fees, etc. For a full four night stay this year at Embassy Suites for Prime, it's $806.66.
• For Mini, in 2026, the hotel rate was $139/night. Again, fees and taxes are not included in this rate.

Why is it so hard to get a hotel room for Prime?

Embassy Suites is the only hotel attached to the St. Charles Convention Center. We know that getting a hotel room at Embassy Suites is always stressful for those of you who enjoy going to Geekway. It's a small hotel for the size of our convention. We block and reserve every single room the hotel will let us reserve. Because they are at a premium, we offer Hotel Patron Badges.

What are Hotel Patron Badges?

These are badges that combine the Prime Patron badge (challenge coin, and other customized swag) along with early access to hotel booking. This is limited to 150 people, and this usually takes most of the available hotel rooms. These sell out very quickly (within minutes), so you have to be quick. 

If you have a Hotel Patron Badge, be sure to book your hotel room before general attendee badge registration opens. We cannot guarantee hotel availability once that happens, and are unable to accommodate hotel rooms once the hotel sells out. The only thing we can do at that point is to refund your Hotel Patron badge by emailing us at badges@geekway.com and then you can repurchase a general attendee badge.

What if I don't purchase a Hotel Patron badge?

Any remaining hotel rooms at the Embassy Suites will be made available to everyone when general attendee badges go on sale. They are few, and they go quickly.

Other Options for Hotel Rooms

On the Hotel, Food and Transportation page we list other nearby hotels that are serviced by our complimentary shuttle service. If you book these, we recommend using their refundable room option. As spring wears on and people have plans that change, sometimes rooms at Embassy Suites become available and you may be able to get one.
